Skye

The MV Stardust operates out of Portree on the Isle of Skye. She is licensed to carry 12 passengers and is fully coded and insured. We offer 1-2 hour sight seeing trips where you will see a great variety of wildlife from birds to whales.

Our biggest attraction is a pair of nesting White Tailed Sea Eagles. We feed them fresh fish, which is thrown from the boat, and they then pick up from the sea. Sometimes the birds are as close as 5 metres from the boat. (As seen on BBC TV's Natures Calendar and to be seen on Johnny Kingdom's nature programme) These wonderful birds have been around the area for the last 25 years.

For walkers we offer a trip to the islands of Rona and Raasay. For Raasay we leave Portree early morning and drop you off in Loch Arnish.

From there you can walk along the famous Calum's Road (book by Roger Hutchinson called Calum's Road) and be in awe of the work done by him building this road.
From there you can continue to Brochel Castle from where you will have wonderful views across to the Torridon Hills, Applecross etc.and then carry on down to Churchton Bay on the south side of the Island where we will collect you and take you back to Portree. You are advised to take a packed lunch with you but there is food available at Raasay House and the Hotel. The Boat trip out is 30 minutes and 40 minutes back. We also go to the Isle of Rona at least once a week, mostly on a Saturday morning. This trip takes one hour each way and is limited for space so booking ahead is advised. You are allowed about 45 minutes ashore where you can purchase Rona postcards and there unique stamps from Bill Cowie who is the manager of the island. You may stay for a couple of days or more but you have to arrange this in advance with Bill who you can contact at www.isleofrona.com or ronalodge@tiscali.co.uk

We also offer fishing trips for groups up to a maximum of twelve persons. All fishing gear is supplied free of charge. The boat is available for private hire for your own private fishing trip.
The Stardust is also available for private hire for anybody whether you want to get married or just have a romantic cruise or you just want to treat your friends. To date we have had five wedding parties - four last year. We are hoping to have a larger and faster vessel in place for 2008 - watch this space.
