Rona

Bill Cowie the Manager for the Island of Rona will start a new ferry service to offer an alternative to the established Portree/Rona route. The new service will operate between Rona and Raasay. The ferry boat, a 7 metre aluminum Voe type boat will be MCA approved and licensed to carry 6 passengers.

The service will be available all year round, weather permitting and will run in daylight hours. Arrangements to pick up passengers at various locations on the North end of the Island of Raasay can be made by calling Bill on 07831293963 or through the Isle of Rona website www.isleofrona.com or email to ronalodge@tiscali.co.uk

Day trips or longer stays are possible and a Portree/Rona to Raasay trip can be arranged using Dan Corrigall 07798743858 our regular ferry operator for the Portree to Rona leg.

Overnight accommodation is available in our Bothy, B&B or short/long lets in the three holiday cottages, subject to availability.

The journey time will depend on the pick up point, Arinish being the furthest South will mean a 25 minute trip.

It will be possible to see seals, whales, porpoises and dolphins on the short trip depending on sea conditions and the time of year.

The cost per return trip is dependant on the amount of people travelling and the pick up point, please call to confirm.
