Holy Island

In 1992 Rokpa Trust, a Tibetan Buddhist charity, bought Holy Island and built the non-denominational Centre for World Peace and Health at the north of the Island. The Centre offers accommodation and full vegetarian board for as many as sixty-four people (twenty-six single rooms, seven twin rooms and three dormitories sleeping eight people) and members of the public are welcome to stay in the centre for retreats and holiday breaks.

A closed Buddhist retreat takes place at the south of the Island.
